Kurdish for beginners

Level 1 - Central Kurdish (Sorani) course for beginners (Aug. 3 – Aug. 31)

Our focus will be on:

  • An introduction about Kurdish language
  • Central Kurdish alphabet
  • The Personal pronouns, and greetings in Kurdish
  • Present simple sentence
  • Question, answer and negative in present
  • Reading and listening
  • Numbers and Personal suffixes
  • Jobs and places in Kurdish
  • Telling a mobile number and some common sentences
  • Definite, indefinite, linking words
  • Singular and plural
  • Common Kurdish verbs and using them in meaningful present and future sentences.
  • Past simple in Kurdish.
  • Reading short stories

Central Kurdish language test (Aug. 31 2020)

 

* The course will be taught online via Google Meet. The lessons would be on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 20.00 Erbil time. We also share the recordings and the slides with the registered students. So, it helps students to study whenever they want, and their questions are always welcome.

Pre-intermediate level

Level 2 - Central Kurdish (Sorani) course – pre-intermediate (Aug. 17 – Sep. 14)

Those learners who have finished our previous courses for beginner’s level, they can participate in this four-week level. Also, other students can ask to join pre-intermediate level after they pass in our KLT (Kurdish language Test). We are working on your Kurdish language skill, studying grammar, vocabularies that are important for your daily life.

* The course will be taught online via Google Meet. The lessons would be on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 21.30 Erbil time. We also share the recordings and the slides with the registered students. So, it helps students to study whenever they want, and their questions are always welcome.

One-to-one

One-to-one Central Kurdish (Sorani) course

Those learners who want to study alone (online) or based in Sulaymaniyah can ask for one-to-one course. Also, they can make their group and send us an email to design a special course for them.

* The courses will be taught in English by Dr. Hewa S. Khalid, lecturer at Kurdish language department at Koya University. He has a PhD in Kurdish Language Teaching

* We have daily quiz and the instructor will be in touch with students to answer their questions and check their quizzes.
